Ann Miller

Links Ward

I moved to the area in 1963 from Lancashire with my parents and brother to be nearer to my grandmother and have lived in the area ever since.

I am married to Alan and we have two grown up children and three beautiful grandsons, which we adore and they all too live locally.

I have had a career in finance most of my life, but also a number of small rewarding jobs that I fitted in and around my children whilst they were growing up, before refreshing my career and going back to work fulltime in finance.

I enjoy most sports and like to play badminton but have now moved on to Walking Football to keep fit and have fun.  One of the other big pleasures I have is travel.  My motto is “Have passport, will travel”. I count myself fortunate and lucky enough to have been to 3 corners of the earth, the 4th corner not visited being North East to Scandinavia/Russia. Perhaps in the future? I am often to be found tickling the keys of my computer and surfing the web in search of bargain flights and more lately cruises. So, it is often the roll of a dice where we end up travelling. Although, I don’t like being away too long these days, as we have a cute little Yorkie dog called Rosie and she keeps us more grounded nowadays.

As a newly elected councillor for Links Ward, I will be working closely with the other two councillors for the ward to resolve problems that may occur, with an aim to improving conditions for the future.  I am also keen to keep the character of Ferndown as a green and pleasant town and will fight unwanted development and campaign for road improvements etc. to keep it that way.
