Julie Robinson

Links Ward

Julie was born in Bedfordshire and moved to this area in 1986 when she bought a newsagent in Charminster, commuting daily from her home in Ferndown. The business ran successfully for four years after which she took time out to raise a family. After canvassing only her local area, she was elected to the Town Council in May 2011, her ambition to get the local community to be more involved, to have their say and to be listened to.

She served on the Heatherlands Community Association for 8 years and held the role of Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator for 12 years. She currently works closely with Synergy Housing and is Chairman of the panel which covers the whole of Ferndown including the Heatherlands Estate. She became a Town Councillor in 2011 and was re-elected in May 2015 and elected as a District Councillor for Ferndown Central Ward.

Julie is also a staunch supporter of providing affordable and social housing. She hopes to encourage the town’s small businesses and encourage others to come to the area.
