Dorset Council has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. The Order is needed to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway and footway works to construct accessibility improvements.
It will come into operation between 20:00 – 06:00 on 20th August 2024 and remain in force for 18 months however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 20th December 2024.

Phase [i] anticipated 20:00 – 06:00 on 20 August 2024 – 28 August 2024. This will not be in place on Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday Monday nights.
Phase [ii] anticipated 20:00 – 06:00 on 2 December 2024 – 10 December 2024. This will not be in place on Saturday and Sunday nights.
The effect of this Order is as follows:
[i] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along: [a] Wimborne Road East between a point west of Clayford Avenue to junction with Ameysford Road; [b] Clayford Avenue at its junction with Wimborne Road East; [c] Batstone Way at its junction with Wimborne Road East; [d] Stanfield Road at its junction with Wimborne Road East.
[ii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along: [a] Wimborne Road East between Cobham Road and Clayford Avenue; [b] Bracken Road at its junction with Wimborne Road East; [c] Clayford Avenue at its junction with Wimborne Road East; [d] St James Road at its junction with Wimborne Road East; [e] Brickyard Lane at its junction with Wimborne Road East. [f] Award Road at its junction with Wimborne Road East.
