Temporary Road Closure of Various Roads, Ferndown

From the 1st July 2024

UPDATE – 19/06/24: Ferndown Town Council have received a response from Dorset Council.

◾️ The one-way closure (eastbound) of Wimborne Road East will be 24hrs/day.
◾️ The junctions of side road closures will also be 24hrs/day.
◾️ The overnight closures will be from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs.

Advanced warning signage of the closures and the diversion route will be out to advise drivers.
For the overnight closures, affected residents will be notified by a letter approximately two weeks before the closure advising of the closure and works.

Dorset Council will be carrying out carriageway and footway works to construct accessibility improvements, with works to commence from 1st July 2024 until 20th December 2024 in phased sections.

Alongside the dates listed below, temporary traffic signals are anticipated to be in place on Wimborne Road East between Brickyard Lane and Bracken Road between 20 September – 20 December.

1 July – 30 August: Eastbound closure of Wimborne Road East between a point west of Clayford Avenue and a point east of Stanfield Road.

20 August – 28 August: Overnight closure of Wimborne Road East between a point west of Clayford Avenue to junction with Ameysford Road; Overnight closure of Clayford Avenue at its junction with Wimborne Road East; Overnight closure of Batstone Way at its junction with Wimborne Road East; Overnight closure of Stanfield Road at its junction with Wimborne Road East.

2 September – 20 September: Eastbound closure of Wimborne Road East between a point east of Bracken Road to a point west of Clayford Avenue.

23 September – 4 October: Closure of Bracken Road at its junction with Wimborne Road East.

2 December – 10 December: Overnight closure of Wimborne Road East between Cobham Road and Clayford Avenue; Overnight closure of Bracken Road at its junction with Wimborne Road East; Overnight closure of Clayford Avenue at its junction with Wimborne Road East; Overnight closure of St James Road at its junction with Wimborne Road East; Overnight closure of Brickyard Lane at its junction with Wimborne Road East. Overnight closure of Award Road at its junction with Wimborne Road East.
