Ferndown Town Council is acutely aware of the inconvenience to our residents and visitors because of the ongoing traffic and parking issues. We are working closely with stakeholders to try to improve this situation for the benefit of our community.
DORSET COUNCIL has made a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Longham as listed:
[i] Ringwood Road between Pompeys Lane and Old Post
Office as indicated by signs on site;
[ii] Christchurch Road at its junction with Ringwood Road as indicated by signs on site.
[iii] Ham Lane at its junction with Ringwood Road as indicated by signs on site.
The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It
will come into operation between 19:00 and 06:00 on 13th August 2023 and remain in force for five days, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17th August 2023.
This Notice will enable Dorset Council to carry out drainage works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.
