In recognition of Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year as our Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth more than 1,500 beacons will be lit. The beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories, and one in each of the capital cities of Commonwealth countries. Ferndown will be joining in with this and lighting a beacon from St Mary’s Church on the evening of Thursday 2nd June at 9.45pm.

For those not able to attend in person the service can be viewed via alive steam link which will “go live” at 8pm, the service will start at approximately 8.15pm, or join us on the same link at 9.40pm for the lighting of the beacon. A livestream operator will be available to contact via the “Livestream Chat” facility on YouTube so if you have any problems please send a message and we will do all we can to help.
