There are lots of food projects across Dorset who can help provide emergency food to you if you need it. There are also projects that sell food at more affordable prices, which can help too.

Citizens Advice

Citizens Advice is an independent charity providing free, confidential and impartial advice to everybody regardless of race, gender, disability, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, religion and belief.

They are there to help and advise on a full range of issues and problems and they are impartial, independent, confidential and free.

You can speak to a member of their team face-to-face at Ferndown Library on Tuesdays and Fridays, 10am – 2pm and at the Centre, Heathlands on Thursdays 10am – 2pm.

The charity offers a number of services to residents, such as day services, help at home and information and advice.

Vision Wimborne – Dial A Ride

Dial A Ride Wimborne

Run entirely by volunteers, Vision Wimborne – Dial A Ride own and operates wheelchair adapted vehicles and offers transport to those who do not have any other suitable means of transport.

Ferndown COPD Support Group

To assist people and their families in Ferndown and surrounding districts who suffer from COPD, Emphysema, Asthma etc.

Meetings are held every first Thursday of each month 3-5pm at Ferndown Day Centre.

The monthly meetings are attended by visiting NHS Healthcare professionals and community pharmacists.
