The object of the society is to promote musical plays, drama, comedies, operettas and other dramatic works, to further the development of public appreciation and taste in the said arts.

We usually stage two major productions a year, plus various concerts and/or variety shows. Our spring production usually takes place sometime between January and March. It alternates between a pantomime one year and a family show or other musical production the next. Our autumn production - September/October - is usually a musical.

We support various local charities chosen on a yearly basis, generally those with a connection within the membership, covering things from the Mayor of Ferndown's Appeal for Wimborne Hospital, League of Friends Poole Hospital, Stroke Clubs, Day Centres and so forth.

But it's not all work, we do have a varied programme of social events organised by our excellent Social & Fund Raising Committee, which members of the public have been invited to attend. Garden parties, bar-b-q's, skittles evenings, jumble sales, the annual Christmas dinner dance (needless to say there's always a raffle to which the members give their whole-hearted support). You'll generally find our cake stall at the Wimborne Folk Festival, which does take a lot or organising but it's certainly proved popular and profitable over the years due to the sheer hard work of our members. Parties are constantly being organised to support local groups within the area, the Curtain Call Awards evening and enjoyable evenings out - yes, we do find time to put on shows as well...

As with every company we are constantly looking to welcome new members into our midst, on stage, back stage, front of house, whichever takes your fancy. For further details visit our website.
